SUPPORT & REPLACEMENT
Check support dates, replacement options and whether continued use still makes sense.
We do not have confirmed sales and support dates for this part number.
Send us the full StoreOnce 3520 order code, software release and support details before planning long-term use.
Ask us to check the current sales and support statusProducts with similar names or connectors may still be incompatible. Compare the full specifications, installed system and software requirements.
Compare related products These products may be related, but we have not confirmed them as replacements.USING HARDWARE RESPONSIBLY
Consider repairability, remaining support and actual operating demand. Extending service life is useful only when the equipment still meets your security and reliability requirements.
Use measured average input power for the same workload. PSU ratings and processor TDP are different from total system power.
Energy difference = (current W − proposed W) × hours × units ÷ 1,000. Excludes cooling, embodied emissions and purchase costs.CONNECTION DETAILS
The storage system uses its factory-supplied controllers. The ordered host interface determines whether the system connects through Ethernet, Fibre Channel or direct SAS.
Browse the categories above for related equipment, then send us the full configuration so we can check the fit.
PRODUCT DETAILS
Resilient data path
Backup clients or media servers write through supported data interfaces into a purpose-built backup store. Management, data and replication networks are separated in the design.
Availability depends on the exact appliance model, configured storage, upstream backup software and recovery design. Replication is not a substitute for tested restore procedures.
Platform and software
Alletra and MSA are separated by GreenLake or local management, controller generation, support term and software entitlement; Nimble, StoreOnce and StoreEasy are not mixed into an Alletra BOM.
Alletra quotations specify the controller pair or disaggregated MP role, shelf type, media pack, NVMe or SAS architecture and supported expansion paths.
Snapshots, Peer Persistence, replication, StoreOnce Catalyst or StoreEasy file services are named as separate entitlements and acceptance tests.
System Architecture
Physical configuration
Capacity expansion uses only appliance-approved shelves, drive packs and cabling. Deduplication sizing is based on protected data, change rate, retention and backup method.
Availability, speed, port count, optics and adapter type must be confirmed for the exact controller and software release.
The final BOM includes only manufacturer-qualified media for the model, enclosure and software release.
Capacity Planning
Sum of installed media before parity, sparing, metadata, formatting and system reserves.
Capacity available after the selected protection layout and mandatory system overhead.
A workload-dependent planning value that may include compression, deduplication or thin provisioning.
Usable backup capacity follows physical protection and reserves. Logical or effective capacity also depends on deduplication, compression, retention and daily change rate and must not be treated as guaranteed raw capacity.
Software platform
HPE StoreOnce software, Catalyst functions and backup-application integrations
Capacity, Catalyst, encryption, replication and support options depend on the selected model and software release
Backup retention and StoreOnce replication are sized from recovery objectives, not array snapshot assumptions
Encryption, secure erase, immutability integration, RBAC and isolated recovery paths are reviewed
Quotation Structure
Controller count, node role, mirrored cache or NVRAM behavior, management plane and failover mode are confirmed before pricing.
Ingest cache, deduplication metadata and catalog protection are sized from change rate, retention and restore targets.Base enclosure, shelves, drive packs, rails, power, shelf I/O modules and cables stay visible as separate order lines.
Capacity expansion uses only appliance-approved shelves, drive packs and cabling. Deduplication sizing is based on protected data, change rate, retention and backup method.FC, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, NFS, SMB or S3 access is validated with host software, optics, adapters and the exact storage release.
HPE StoreOnce Catalyst, Virtual tape where supported, NAS backup access where supported, Replication networkSnapshots, replication, encryption, ransomware protection, capacity metrics, software term and service SLA are priced as named entitlements.
Capacity, Catalyst, encryption, replication and support options depend on the selected model and software releaseThe quotation lists raw, usable and effective capacity separately and allows for growth, spare capacity and rebuild overhead.
